Obituary for Charles E Weiser

Charles E  Weiser
Victoria – Charles Eugene Weiser went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born March 19, 1932 in Thorndale, Texas to the late Walter C. and Esther Weiser.

At 3 years old they moved to Bishop, Texas. He attended Concordia Elementary School before entering Bishop High where he met his future wife LaNeva Simpson. Charles and LaNeva were married November 16, 1950 and were married 66 years. They had 4 amazing children; 1 daughter and 3 sons.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 grandsons Jackie (6) and James (9 months) Hughes; brothers-in-law Jimmy Griffith and Buch Pack.

He is survived by his wife LaNeva Weiser; daughter Sharon (Jack) Hughes of Amarillo; son Charles Jr. (Bonnie) of Oswego, Illinois, Jerry (Angela) of Friendswood and Randal (Tammy) of Victoria and sister Mary Pack of Harlingen; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

They moved to Victoria in 1962 where he began his career with DuPont. He worked his way up to Maintenance Superintendent and retired in 1994 after 33 years.

He was very active at Grace Lutheran Church where he held many offices including trustee for many years and was a liaison between the church and contractor while building the new church on Zac Lentz Parkway. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was always ready to help anyone in need.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Weiser Russell Weiser, Darren Weiser, Mason Hewitt, Matthew Hewitt and Stephen Theus. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Haile, Alvin Zieschang, Darrell Schneider, Jeffery Griffith, James Billups and John Powell.

Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:30 pm. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Debt Retirement, Hospice of South Texas or donor’s choice.
