Obituary for Valentine Honc Jr.

Valentine  Honc Jr.
Victoria – Valentine J. Honc went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2017 at the age of 92. He was born December 5, 1924 to the late Valentine M. and Frances Honc.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Margaret; daughter Linda (Allan) Urbish; son Gary (Bernice) Honc; grandchildren Cheryl Honc, Keith Eschenburg, Yvonne (Jerry Nino) Eschenburg, Jacqueline (Tony) Garcia, Pamela (Aarin) Wendt and August Urbish; great grandchildren Brenden Nino, Anthony and Luke Garcia and Jagger and Corbin Wendt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Valentine was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking especially making cabinets. He also loved to travel. He was a lifelong member of KJT having received his 75-year pin. He played pro baseball for the Milwaukee Braves and later played for the Victoria Rosebuds. He retired after 25 years from Alcoa in Point Comfort in 1988.

Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with Mass to follow at 10:00 am at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory.

Burial with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council, AL, CWV, VFW, DAV, MCL, MOWW, EX-POW, MOPH, VVA, and KWV will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
