Obituary for Margie Dreyer

Margie Ann Dreyer, 79, passed away Jan. 7, 2017. She was born Nov. 12, 1937 in Sealy to Zigmund and Clara Starustka. She was a Catholic. Margie graduated from Orchard High School in 1956. She was employed by Girling Health Care as a caregiver. She spent the last 20 years taking care of elderly citizens who became like family to her.

She is survived by her son, Lauren Dean Dreyer, of Port Lavaca; daughters, Sherry Ficklen, of Port Lavaca, and Laurie Beers and husband, Raymond, of Spring; grandchildren, Trevor Cole Dreyer, of San Marcos, Amberleigh Thomas and husband, Dr. Mike Thomas, of The Woodlands, Skyeleigh Ficklen, of Port Lavaca, Christopher and Cameron Beers, of Spring; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Chancellor and Makynlee Kate Thomas, of The Woodlands; brother, Jerry Starustka and wife, Bernadette; nephew, Marc Starustka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lauren Douglas Dreyer, Jr.; son-in-law, Robert W. Ficklen; and nephew Randy Starustka.

Visitation was at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, located on Murrah and Lamar streets in Point Comfort, with Fr. Scott Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Six Mile Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Dr. Mike Thomas, Raymond Beers Jr., Trevor Cole Dreyer, Christopher Beers, Tristum Mitchell and Michael Beard.
