DOROTHY GEE HINER
1916 ~ 2016
Port Lavaca – Dorothy Gee Hiner passed away December 2, 2016 at the age of 100. She was born February 26, 1916 in Whitesboro, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husbands B.F. Slater and James O. Hiner; her parents Rena Etta and John Geen Coleman; brothers Eugene Coleman, David Coleman; sisters Eva Wynn and Rena Buchanan and daughter Jan Murray.
Dorothy was kind and genuinely concerned for the well-being of others. She was a seamstress and piano teacher in Lake Jackson, Texas.
She is survived by her children James O. Hiner, Judy Melcher and Terry Biff Slater; grandchildren Anne Tischler, Andy Slater, J.C. Melcher IV, Jill Putman, Ronda Murry, Charles Shriner, Robert Shriner, and Michael Shriner and numerous great grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
