JOYCE ELAYNE (MCCOY) MOLLICONE
1932 ~ 2016
Joyce Elayne Mollicone, age 83, of Goliad, Texas, passed away Tuesday night, November 22, 2016, after a long illness. Joyce was born in rural Texas south of San Antonio, on December 25, 1932, the daughter of Lenora (Mueller) McCoy and, later, adoptive father, Senior Master Sergeant David G. McCoy. She graduated from Lytle High School where she was active in sports and band.
Joyce entered the business world gaining sales experience in San Antonio with Wolff & Marx Department Store where she won promotions to serve as a Store Buyer, gaining valuable management experience.
After meeting and marrying her lifelong partner, Colonel Richard Mollicone, in 1958, Joyce partnered in founding an Air Travel Club, earned a Realtor’s license and eventually established her own very successful Real estate firm.
Her husband’s retirement from the military eventually brought them back to Goliad, TX where Joyce and Dick established, and Joyce operated, the M-R-Bar Emu Ranch for the past 25 years. Joyce loved all animals and couldn’t resist “rescuing” strays of all kinds. Her favorites were her furry friends … cats of all sizes, shapes and colors.
Joyce is survived by her husband, her daughter Cheyenne (Mollicone) Johnson and her husband Sergeant Brandon Johnson, U.S. Army as well as her sister-in-law Mary Kay McCoy (wife of Joyce’s now deceased brother, Dr. Warren W. McCoy) and many loved nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service is planned with details to follow at a later date.
Joyce was loved and will be missed. She is now in the eternal care of our Lord.
